Well, well, well, Dancing with the Stars makes a move that no one expected at all. With Season 29 fall debut still a big question mark, the show cast their first contestant during The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever!
After ABC aired highlights of Kaitlyn Bristowe's season, Chris Harrison joined her and boyfriend Jason Tartick in a post-show Q & A. To say that she was surprised and ecstatic would be an understatement when she realized the question Harrison was asking her.
"I have a very, very real question for you, Kaitlyn," Harrison dramatically asked. "And this is a question I am so excited to ask you because... well, your life is about to change and I'm not joking."
Bristowe immediately questioned her boyfriend,"Do you know about this?"
"I just got goosebumps," he responded.
Harrison finally asked the big question, "Kaitlyn, will you be on the next season of Dancing with the Stars?"
Her reaction was pretty spectacular given the drama leading up to this moment. She had a feud with Bachelor executive producer Mike Fleiss, who reportedly did not allow Bachelorette contestants to compete on DWTS.
Her spot is long overdue and while a Bachelor casting isn't very inventive, this has been Bristowe's dream for a long time. She has dance experience and she will be invested in rehearsals and competing because this is an opportunity she waited a long time for.
Bristowe already told ET that she would love Derek Hough as a partner. Since that can't happen, her second choice is Gleb Savchenko. He better get ready for a great Season 29 partner... whenever Season 29 happens.
