Take Your Britney Spears Obsession to the Next Level in The Zone

Updated: Apr 6, 2020

On Oct. 23, 1998, "...Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears was released. This single was not only the best-selling song of 1999 in the U.S., but it also ushered in a new generation of teen-pop stars. Britney became a pop-culture icon, who influenced fashion, music and dance.

Her impact on the early 2000s and beyond is on display in Los Angeles at The Zone: The Britney Spears Experience, just across the street from the Farmer's Market and The Grove. The 60-90-minute attraction offers 10 rooms and nine major Britney songs to experience and capture for social media.

The Zone is produced by Black Sky Creative and SRExperiences. The two organizations designed the Spears event to drop visitors directly into her iconic videos like "...Baby One More Time" and "Toxic." Fans will recognize Britney's longtime personal assistant Felicia Cullotta, who greets visitors in her best schoolteacher voice to read the rules of the exhibition. It's the first indication that The Zone is anything but basic.

The interactive display where you can sing and dance also involved an RFID wristband, which connects to The Zone app. There are moments to shoot photos and videos via the wristband, which then creates shareable content for all social media platforms.

From snakes to airplanes and a circus, The Zone includes those magical moments that made Britney a star. It gives the visitor a glimpse of all that she's accomplished as a singer and dancer. Even though it's a pop-up experience, it's also a testament to her legacy in the music and dance industries.

It's hard to say what the most impactful moment of The Zone is because just when you think it's "Toxic," you get a chance to film yourself dancing next to Britney in "Me Against the Music." If that wasn't enough, the "Circus" room has enough Insta-worthy moments to send your head spinning.

The exhibit runs through April 26 with an on-site retail store that includes exclusive Britney Spears and The Zone merchandise. For tickets and information, visit The Zone: The Britney Spears Experience.
